Grandvalira Resorts’ mountain destinations will officially launch the summer season this weekend with the simultaneous opening of many of Grandvalira’s activities and the start of the season at Pal Arinsal. The opening coincides with the ANDBike Festival and the Warriors 2.0 Trophy, a round of the Catalan Downhill Cup, taking place in La Massana. With this launch, Grandvalira Resorts unveils an offering that combines new family experiences, cycling, nature and gastronomy, complementing the opening of access routes to the Tristaina Solar Viewpoint in Ordino Arcalís, which have been operational since June 6.

The season begins with several new family and cycling attractions, including the Big Jump Park in El Tarter, the Blavet trail at the Pal Arinsal Bike Park, and the Green Gravity Descent area at Bike World. The offer will gradually expand over the coming weeks with the opening of the new Soldeu Maze in July, the Pessons Lake Refuge, and the launch of Funicamp on July 11. Funicamp will also feature one of Grandvalira’s major new attractions for the summer: the new Encamp Bear sculpture, titled Petjades Enlairades (“Soaring Footprints”).

With these additions, Grandvalira Resorts strengthens its position as a year-round active mountain destination, offering experiences for families, cycling enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.

Warriors 2.0 Trophy and Bike Festival launch the season at Pal Arinsal

Summer begins at Pal Arinsal on Saturday, June 20, with the reopening of the Bike Park and Bike World. The resort opens its summer season alongside the ANDBike Festival, promoted by the La Massana Council, and the Warriors 2.0 Trophy, a Catalan Downhill Cup event that already has more than 150 registered riders. Training sessions will take place on Saturday, while Sunday will feature the two race runs followed by the prize ceremony. Registration remains open at topcrono.net. This Sunday will also see the Andorra MoraBanc Clàssica cycling race, finishing at Coll de la Botella and featuring numerous professional road cycling teams.

These events are only the beginning of a summer that will continue with the Andorra Epic and, most notably, the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, which from July 9 to 12 will once again bring the world’s best riders to La Massana.

Among the Bike Park’s new features is the Blavet trail, a blue-level route that expands the offering of the renowned bike park and its more than 60 km of circuits, along with the renovation of the Commencal Inferior trail. Bike World will also introduce the new Green Gravity Descent area, which from July onwards will connect the upper section of the Bike Park with the resort base, enhancing opportunities for both expert riders and families or beginners.

Grandvalira expands its family and cycling offering

Saturday will also mark the opening of some of Grandvalira’s main new summer attractions. One of them is the Big Jump Park in El Tarter, a large outdoor inflatable area covering more than 800 square metres, designed for children, teenagers and groups of friends, and promoted by the Canillo Council. The family offering will be complemented by the opening of the Mon(t) Magic Family Park in Canillo, which continues to feature popular attractions such as the Magic Gliss, zipline, tubing, inflatables and nature discovery trails, consolidating its status as one of the leading family attractions in the Pyrenees.

Golf Soldeu, Europe’s highest-altitude 9-hole golf course, will also reopen. This summer it introduces a new floating green on the practice lake, adding a fun and competitive element to the experience. In the same sector, the Wine & Meat Bar by Jean Leon will once again be one of the season’s leading gastronomic attractions, offering grilled meats, selected wines and a terrace with exceptional views.

Cycling remains one of the pillars of the summer programme with the launch of the 114-kilometre Grandvalira e-bike circuit network, the largest in the resort’s history. Three new routes are being added: the Cabirol Loop, a family-friendly trail featuring interactive wooden games at Pla d’Espiolets; the Molleres Loop in the Forn de Canillo area; and the new Tamarro Flow Trail, a nearly six-kilometre blue trail connecting Llosada with the base of El Tarter, scheduled to open in July. These routes link the sectors of Canillo, Soldeu, El Tarter, Encamp and Grau Roig, reinforcing Grandvalira’s position as one of the Pyrenees’ leading e-bike destinations.

The restaurant at the iconic Pessons Lake Refuge will reopen on July 4 following terrace renovations, while Funicamp will begin operating on July 11. On the same date, 4x4 shuttle services will start operating in Grau Roig, providing access to the Pessons Lake Refuge, and in Solanelles, offering transport to Cubil Lake. July 11 is also the planned inauguration date for another major summer attraction: the Petjades Enlairades Bear sculpture, designed by Naiara Galdós and developed in collaboration with the Encamp Council. During July, the new maze located on the Soldeu platform will also open, another initiative promoted by the Canillo Council, adding even more family leisure options to the parish.

Ordino Arcalís: nature and high-altitude panoramas

Meanwhile, Ordino Arcalís continues to operate the Tristaina gondola and the Creussans chairlift, which have provided access to the Tristaina Solar Viewpoint since June 6. The resort complements the experience with guided excursions by the Grandvalira Mountain Guides, the Tristaina Lakes circular hiking route, and a variety of dining and accommodation options linked to the Sorteny Natural Park.
