Grandvalira Solidarity brings together various initiatives aimed at generating a positive social impact. Through projects such as solidarity rounding and Grandvalira Social, it promotes inclusion, access to sport and leisure activities, and support for groups with special needs, working alongside social organisations to help build a fairer and more inclusive society.
Grandvalira Social’s mission is to open doors, break down barriers and offer opportunities while communicating encouragement and hope. These objectives are achieved by combining two ingredients that provide pleasure and well-being: skiing and contact with nature. In this way, through stays at Grandvalira, whether in winter or summer, different groups are able to leave their daily routine behind, at least for a while.
The resort seeks to promote sporting activities and bring them within reach of groups with special needs. Although the emphasis is on projects within Andorra, there is also a place for those from outside the Principality. Grandvalira Social’s aims include:
Grandvalira Social also collaborates with various organisations to help people with financial and mobility difficulties, and collaborates with UNICEF and all the food banks in Andorra.
A small gesture that makes a big difference
The Pal Arinsal and Grandvalira Soldeu – El Tarter resorts launched the solidarity rounding initiative two years ago, in collaboration with Univers Bomosa and Worldcoo. This system allows customers to round up the final amount of their card payments and donate the difference to a social cause.
This season, the funds raised are donated to Càritas Andorrana to support children and young people in vulnerable situations. To date, the initiative has raised nearly €19,000 through almost 25,000 micro-donations.
