Off the alpine ski slopes, but within the skiable area, you can practice other disciplines such as freeride and mountain skiing, two forms of skiing that are growing in popularity and have an ever-increasing number of devotees. To promote the coexistence of these disciplines with alpine skiing, with the aim of ensuring mutual respect and above all safety, Grandvalira has several marked routes for off-piste skiing and mountain skiing for skiers with different levels of experience.
In both cases, it's recommend using the Grandvalira App, where you will find details of the mountain skiing circuits as well as related challenges that give all participants the chance to win cool prizes. You can also access the Alpify App, which you can use to send your exact location to the rescue teams in case of emergency.
Grandvalira has numerous areas for freeriding as well as the marked routes shown on the map. All the controlled freeriding areas offer different routes and lines adapted for both intermediate freeriders and experts.
Grandvalira currently boasts six signposted circuits, which are free of charge and have been adapted to suit all levels of technical and physical aptitude.
