MASTERS OF FREESTYLE

TOTAL FIGHT

ANDORRA 2020

From March 26 to April 4

THE HISTORY

HISTORY

Freestyle originated in the nineteen thirties in Norway when alpine skiers carried out acrobatics during their training sessions. It wasn't until the nineteen fifties that the first exhibitions began in the United States which established freeski as a sporting and competitive discipline.

Snowboarding did not arrive until the late seventies to early eighties when surfers and skateboarders adapted the maneuvers they made in the water and on concrete to the snow.

If there is one thing that unites Freeski and Snowboard in Freestyle, it is the particular way of seeking enjoyment in the mountains, spots, and new free style ski or snowboard tricks.

Over the years, Freestyle has gathered more and more followers and today, Total Fight is one of the headline competitions for lovers of this sport.

THE COMPETITION

SNOWPARK EL TARTER

SNOWPARK EL TARTER

This year Grandvalira will host the 15th Total Fight Masters of Freestyle competition, the most important freestyle event in the Pyrenees, with the outstanding man and female riders from the world of freestyle.

The Total Fight Masters of Freestlye will be held from 28 to 30 March for Snowboard and from the 4 to 6 of March in Freeski.

The El Tarter Snowpark will be the setting for two weekends filled with spectacular jumps and fun.

The Snowboard competition is in the ELITE category, which is the highest category, with only seven events worldwide, counting the X games of Aspen and Oslo. It is one of the most important competitions on the circuit, which brings together the best riders in the world, such as the 2015 world champion, Roope Tonteri, 2012 world champion, Seppe Smits, and Tyler Nicholson, second in the world rankings in 2014.

In Freeski the competition is in the GOLD category and is one of the essential dates in the international calendar for the sport of slopestyle.

The El Tarter Snowpark is a pioneering venue in the Iberian Peninsula. Over the years, it has expanded and improved to offer long routes with modules and areas for all levels of skiing and snowboarding.

With a current length of 1.3 km, it offers skiers and snowboarders of every kind a place to evolve, improve and have fun in complete safety, as well as providing the ideal stage for the Total Fight Masters of Freestyle.
