Energy-dense, easily-digestible, nutrient-rich food: the secret to the diet of the world's best skiers

Local produce is central to the food eaten at the Finals as it keeps all its properties intact.

Bowls of antioxidant-rich fruit and toast with salmon, avocado and green sprouts are both favourites amongst skiers getting ready to compete.

The ‘snow smoothie’ has been created for the event, using energy-dense and potassium-rich banana as its main ingredient.

Mikaela Shiffrin continues to make history and Dominik Paris wins de double in the Super-G at the 2019 Andorra Finals

Shiffrin has clinched her first victory in a speed race and is on the way to winning four World Cup trophies this season

The Italian won this Thursday’s trial and his first Crystal Globe

It’s been an exceptional day thanks to the weather and the 3,000 spectators who joined us in El Tarter, coinciding with the Day of the Andorran Constitution

Mikaela Shiffrin: “It would be great to leave Andorra with four Crystal Globes”

The North American has already sealed the victory of the World Cup Slalom and the overall classification, and the Giant Slalom and Super-G are also within reach

The current number 1 already visited the Principality back in 2012 and is happy to be back, describing it as an “extraordinary place”

Her aim is to bring women’s skiing “to another level” and show “how special this sport is”

The Pyrenees enter into World Cup history with the first men’s downhill race in Grandvalira

The setting was the Àliga d'El Tarter slope, which hosted the first two trials of the discipline, with around 2,500 spectators

Switzerland’s Beat Feuz won the Crystal Globe in the downhill category and Italy’s Dominik Paris was the fastest on the Àliga slope

Austria dominated the women’s races, with a victory for Nicole Schmidhofer in the general classification and for Mirjam Puchner in the Andorran trial

The opening of the Finals of the World Cup is a spectacle which dares to use the Avet as a giant screen

A 37,500 m2 video montage was projected onto the slopes showing the history of Andorra, the history of Grandvalira and the journey to the Finals.

The Chairman of the ISF described as “extraordinary” the work of the Organising Committee and thanked the volunteers.

The event, which closed with fireworks and music, is destined to remain unique in the history of the ISF.
