The L'Abarset resurfaces with the goal of becoming the best après-ski in Europe
This season, Grandvalira opens a renewed version of the popular venue, which combines leisure, music, and gastronomy in a unique experience
The design, by David Alayeto (Dream Up Design), fuses the space with the environment and brings the magic of the Andorran mountains to the inside of the new L’Abarset
Grandvalira’s popular leisure and restaurant venue, L’Abarset, is back this winter season stronger than ever and with the aim of becoming the best après-ski in Europe. The renovated project maintains the essence and spirit of the old venue, but at the same time it has been strengthened with a new concept in which leisure, music, and gastronomy will be united in a unique experience, going beyond the ski season and the weekend. As such, the aim is to deseasonalize leisure in the Principality with gastronomy and music from Monday to Sunday. So you can enjoy live music, DJs, or themed dinners outdoors during the summer. This complete experience, in the purest alpine style, is open to the local public and tourists. A must for everyone who visits Andorra.
All in a new architectural framework that surprises with its elegance, beauty, and integration with the environment. The new building that will house L’Abarset, located right next to the El Tarter Gondola, is in the final stretch of its construction.
The old L'Abarset closed its doors prematurely in March 2020, thus ending nine years of partying and playful atmosphere, but the new venue will be opened as one of the main highlights of this season of winter 2021–2022 in Grandvalira.
2,000 m2 of eclectic space, which adapts to the needs of the public
L’Abarset is a bistronomy restaurant and festive space, with a quality offer, in a respectful atmosphere that favours socialization and fun. Shortly before the closing of the slopes, the space is the meeting point for après-ski, from 4 pm to 9 pm, which will have a new VIP area with a capacity for 80 people. Business tourism will also find a nerve centre to complement the varied list of venues offered by Grandvalira.
The transformation of the space, with the design of David Alayeto, from the Dream Up Design studio, incorporates the beauty of the mountains in every detail: the perfect balance between day and night, in an oasis of entertainment with privileged views to the outside. The mountain is present in the room thanks to the natural materials, which, mixed with other noble materials, provide a touch of eclectic sophistication that generates a warm, elegant, and modern environment.
The more than 2,000 square metre area, with two floors and a terrace of 700 m2, incorporates unique furniture and decoration, with organic shapes, walls with sculptures of logs, latticework made of branches or bars that emulate rocks emerging from the ground. The lighting design is another key element in generating the welcoming atmosphere offered by the L'Abarset: ambient light from ceilings and walls, accentuated by fireplaces that simulate bonfires and create unparalleled spaces of intimacy and warmth in which to relax and enjoy the days in the mountains.
