Grandvalira plans to extend the weekend ski area with 41 miles of open slopes

Soldeu and El Tarter kick off the season with two linked sectors per track

The Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig and Encamp sectors will stay open and connected

Grandvalira will be accessible on weekends with 41 miles of skiable slopes. This Saturday, for the first time in its history, the resort plans to partially open the sectors of Soldeu El Tarter with 9 miles of skiable slopes. As always, the Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig and Encamp sectors will still be open and connected, with 32 miles of slopes. The Pla de les Pedres link will not be accessible this weekend.

The ski cannons and machines work intensely to offer the best track conditions. Thanks to these tasks, Grandvalira will provide access to five of its six sectors this weekend. The technical team plans to gradually open more skiable surface after the snow that we should start seeing from tomorrow.

Grandvalira will maintain special rates and the price of a day pass will still be €40 per adult/junior and €25 per child (to be purchased at the box office or online).

This weekend will also offer several adventure activities such as mushing, snowmobiles and snowshoeing as well as many of the food and drink establishments in the open sectors. In addition, the ski and snowboard schools of the open sector will be fully operational.

Snowpark open in the Grau Roig sector

The Sunrise Park Xavi in the Grau Roig sector will, as of Thursday, open 3 lines for beginners (4 rails), experts (4 rails) and pros (4 rails and one jump).

L'Abarset Après-Ski Restaurant

After the success of the launch of the après-ski parties, L’Abarset continues to offer the most acclaimed DJs of the electronic scene at the foot of El Tarter. Fresh from Ibiza, DJ Gonçalo will be playing at the venue this Saturday. New for this year, the restaurant will also serve a new  hot breakfast menu.

Free bus service

Also during the weekend and in order to facilitate access to The Snow Domain, a free shuttle service will travel between the Canillo and Grau Roig sectors for skiers who show their day or season pass. The service will start at 8.30am with buses running every 30 minutes and stops in all the Grandvalira sectors except Pas de la Casa. The last bus will leave Grau Roig at 5.30pm.

WEATHER FORECAST

According to weather forecasts, temperatures could fall slightly during the next few days and we might even see some precipitation in the form of snow falling over the 1,500 meters, which would help to improve the conditions of the slopes.
