Grandvalira begins installation of the stands for the Finals of the World Cup Andorra 2019

The stands will have capacity for a total of 1,000 people in El Tarter and 1,500 in Soldeu

Public access to the stands will be free so that everyone can enjoy the competition

Andorra la Vella, 18 February 2019. Today, Grandvalira has begun the installation of the stands for the Finals of the Alpine Skiing World Cup Andorra 2019. The work started this morning and the technical team moved all the necessary material to the foot of the Àliga slope in preparation for erecting the stands that will have capacity for a total of 1,000 people.

The Àliga layout in Grandvalira's El Tarter sector will be the setting for the disciplines of speed, downhill and super giant slalom. These competitions will take place on 13 and 14 March for both the women's and men's categories. On Friday 15 March, the Àliga slope will also host the Alpine Team Event (ATE), which will include the participation of Andorra.

Meanwhile, installation of the stands at the foot of the Avet slope in the Soldeu sector of Grandvalira will begin later this month. Here the technical team will construct stands to accommodate a total of 1,500 people for the occasion.

The Avet slope will host the technical disciplines of slalom and giant slalom which will take place at the weekend, on 16 and 17 March.

Entry to the stands will be free to the public and these can be accessed on foot from the lower part of the two slopes.
