Grandvalira at almost 100% occupancy for December bank holiday weekend

Grandvalira is looking forward to an excellent bank holiday weekend this weekend. The Andorran resort will be able to open practically all of its slopes thanks to the quantities of snow that have fallen over the last couple of weeks.

Winter sports lovers coming to the Pyrenean resort from Friday, 6 December to Sunday, 8 December will be able to enjoy the Iberian Peninsula's largest skiable area with 202 km spread across 114 different slopes. Our ski lifts will be operating almost at full capacity, with 90% of the lifts set to be open.

More great news for visitors to Grandvalira this weekend: recent snowfall has been both heavy and of good quality, meaning the slopes are perfect with between 100 - 170 cm of powdery snow. That's not all - the weather forecast for this weekend is very favorable over the coming days and visitors are set for a great weekend.

Grandvalira continues to work hard to prepare the Snowpark El Tarter, and we aim to open it as soon as possible for visitors to enjoy the longest line of modules and jumps in the Pyrenees. The Xavi Snowpark will be partially open with an intermediate line where beginner freestyle fans can try out between 4 - 5 modules.

All of the services provided by the Ski and Snowboard School will be available. As well as our well-known products such as Top Class instructors and group/personal skiing lessons, Grandvalira will be opening its Freeride Center for the first time this season. Skiers visiting the Center will be able to go out and cover fresh snow with an instructor who is specialized in off-piste skiing.

Visitors to Grandvalira will also be able to enjoy a wide range of activities at the start of this new season: Snowmobiles, mushing, snow shoes and igloo construction are just a few of the possibilities for the whole family.

More possibilities to enjoy the best gastronomy

All of Grandvalira's restaurants will be open over the long weekend, and there are even a few new places set to open to entice you in. One of them is the Pasta Box Gall de Bosc in Soldeu, a fast-food restaurant offering high-quality pasta and a new terrace. We'll also be opening the Solanelles restaurant (with a lounge and self-service area) with high-quality food based on the best fresh ingredients prepared in a home-made style.

One other attractive proposal we have for you is the Cala Bassa beach Club, an exclusive Snow Lounge in Pas de la Casa offering the same Mediterranean cuisine as in the CBbC Restaurante on Ibiza, but with a few special touches more suited to the Pyrenees. Last but not least in this list of fantastic new eating areas, we mustn't forget Red Chill-Out with its breathtaking views of the Encampadana freeride area in the El Tarter sector or the Igloo Bar in Pla de les Pedres in the Grau Roig sector which is set to open with a spectacular ice structure.

Skiing isn't skiing without a bit of après-ski, and we have something for everyone. With options such as L’Abarset restaurant with its new terrace and lounge area or the Terraza Nordic-Lounge Gall de Bosc in Soldeu, you'll always find something that's right for you.
