GRANDVALIRA SNOW SAFETY CAMP BY BLACK DIAMOND
Grandvalira and Black Diamond select 6 skiers to live the first Snow Safety Camp together with the high mountain guides Jonatan Larrañaga and Marc Toralles.
Grandvalira opens this season the Grandvalira Adventure Center, an adventure center located in the sectors of Soldeu and El Tarter. The new space offers for adrenaline lovers live unique mountain experiences in Andorra such as helieskiing, freeride, freetouring, backcountry both in the ski area and in the natural environment of the station, and it does it by the hand of its technical sponsor, Black Diamond.
This campus, which will be held on the weekend of February 1st and 2nd, will be free for a select group of 6 lucky people who will be chosen through an Instagram contest that will include accommodation, ski passes in Grandvalira, meals at the station and Après-Ski. Also an attractive program that combines action and safety training by the specialists of the Grandvalira Adventure Center team.
Applicants have to follow Grandvalira (@grandvalira) and Black Diamond (@blackdiamond) on Instagram, post a photo or video related to the world of snow, that reflects their desire to live this unique experience. And finally, tag the two profiles and add the hashtags #grandvalirasnowsafetycamp and #liveskirepeat.
The contest will end on Saturday, January 25th at 5pm. The 6 most spontaneous, fun and original pictures will be selected as winners by a jury composed of members of Grandvalira and Black Diamond.
Program:
1st DAY
The first day is more focused on safety (snow-safety) and the different action protocols. On this first day, in addition to talking about safety, nivology and the search for avalanche victims, we will work on the technique of descending on untreated snow.
2nd DAY
The second day will be dedicated to Ski Touring (the Ski Touring or Fretouring areas of the resort are areas where the access to the off-piste or the return after the off-piste is done with sealskins with small climbs of 10 to 20 min. maximum or with Ractrac), we will carry out workshops to solve complex descents in riders, such as anchorage of fortune, abseiling, as well as choice of itinerary and circulation in unmarked terrain.
During the Camp, the lucky ones will have at their disposal a material test (skis and DVA's), courtesy of Black Diamond.
